With a very narrow and complex site the brief called for maximising the use of the land and creating a landmark office development. Having retail at ground level was vital in activating this prominent but unused site. Hard landscaping around the narrow block would also play an important role. The biggest challenge was accommodating the required parking in a way which understated the presence of large car park in the building. The treatment at parking level was one of the keys to creating a visually pleasing facade.
